Reflections on Treading the Waves
I walk by the shore, treading the waves.
I stand right here, watching the waves.
I listen to the sound of crashing surf upon the shore,
I feel the rhythm of waves surging forward and receding back.
A great wave rushes in, wearing courage like a cloak;
The waters retreat, flowing away with quiet grace.
Arrival is fierce and grand; departure, calm and composed.
The crashing wave comes with such strength;
The receding surge withdraws so lightly.
Courage and elegance dwell within the very same wave.
I admire the wave's resilience:
Its strength lies in shattering, only to gather again;
Its tenacity, in receding, only to return once more.
As if there were never a beginning,
Nor ever an end.
Forever light and free,
Vibrant with life.
Life itself is like the rising and falling of the tide.
Moving forward, strive to be the highest crest—
Carrying light, driving dreams, breaking wholeheartedly if break it must.
When weary, allow yourself to sleep;
When unwell, allow yourself to heal.
Only by knowing how to rest and replenish can one endure for long.
Through ups and downs, joy not in gain, grieve not in loss:
When the wave comes, carrying power—strong!
When the wave goes, carrying lightness—gentle!
Nothing in this world is perfect,
Yet we can be like the waves of the sea,
Ebbing and flowing, remaining complete and whole.
Life and death are just like the crashing waves.
Coming is the wave rising; going is the wave returning.
Follow the rhythm of nature:
While living, create with all your heart.
At the moment of farewell, still leave with a smile—graceful, open, and serene.
I love coming to the beach at sunset,
To listen to the tide and watch the waves.
Life is just like a wave—
The wave arrives, and the wave leaves;
The wave leaves, and it comes back again.
Yet, it has never truly left.
